Cut Traded Fired Retired Podcast: Joel Dreessen

Joel Dreessen put Morgan County on the map for the NFL. Guys who came after him from that area include Ryan Jensen, Dalton Risner and Trey McBride. They are all small town, no BS guys with an unbelievable work ethic. Joel was a standout tight end for CSU and is a member of their Athletics Hall of Fame. He was drafted by the New York Jets in the 6th round of the 2005 Draft and they cut him a year later. He then spent a year out of football, trying out for a different team nearly every week. In 2007, he was signed by the Houston Texans where he played 5 seasons and then made his way to Denver as a free agent for two more seasons until he was released. His first few years after retiring from the NFL were a little tough mentally, especially trying to be a radio show host during the Broncos run to a Super Bowl 50 win. Joel has some great words of advice and a forearm tattoo as a constant reminder of his mantra.
